Alternatives to Bosh and Samsung: 5 brands of appliances and electronics that will replace Western brands that left Russia
Welcome back Grundig!
Surely many remember this German brand. Grundig was founded in post-war Germany and for a long time specialized in the production of televisions, tape recorders and radios. In the early 2000s, the company, unable to withstand competition from Asian giants, went through bankruptcy. After that, it was bought by the Turkish manufacturer of home appliances Beko. It was under this brand that Grundig products returned to the Russian market. The Beko trademark is mainly represented by kitchen appliances: refrigerators, dishwashers, microwave ovens and other products from this category.
ChiQ is coming
Currently, a very limited range of products of the Chinese brand ChiQ is presented on the Russian market. From a wide range of brand products, only computer monitors reach the Russian Federation so far. However, it is expected that in the near future the presence of this brand, whose products are actively sold in more than 20 countries, will significantly expand in Russia. Today, ChiQ positions itself as a manufacturer of high-quality smart home appliances. Under this brand, TVs, refrigerators, air conditioners and many other products are produced.
Salom, Artel!
Artel was founded in Uzbekistan over 10 years ago. During this time, the brand managed to become the leading manufacturer of home appliances in the country. It produces a wide range of home appliances and electronics: refrigerators, gas stoves, air conditioners, water heaters, washing machines, TVs and smartphones. The main advantage of the brand is affordable prices. Artel products are an order of magnitude lower than similar ones from Western manufacturers. However, there are also some pitfalls. Users complain that Artel products are noticeably inferior in terms of build quality to appliances of companies that have left Russia.
Nice to meet you, Ascoli
This young Chinese brand, founded in 2018, is not yet familiar to Russian consumers, but retailers are already starting to fix it. A wide range of brand products, which is represented by both small household appliances and large appliances (refrigerators, ovens, hobs, washing machines), is gradually entering the market. Ascoli products belong to the price category above average, however, according to user reviews, their quality leaves much to be desired.
Her Majesty TCL
The Chinese corporation with more than 40 years of history is famous for the fact that in its best years it absorbed such Western brands as Thomson, BlackBerry and Alcatel. TCL is also known for its powerful manufacturing base, which is why it often acts as an outsourcer for more famous brands. For example, the company produced liquid crystal modules for Samsung TVs. Currently, a large range of TVs produced specifically under the TCL brand is presented on the Russian market, and buyers speak rather flatteringly about them.
