FX.co ★ China shows its fifth-generation J-20 fighter

The test flight of the spectacular fighter held in 2011. However, the newest model of the aviation industry was demonstrated to the public only in November 1.

This fighter is developed for the Chinese Air Force. It is expected that the aircraft will have been fully operated by 2018.

Chinese authorities hope that the fifth-generation fighter will allow China to close the technology gap with the United States in the military field.

Experts note that the design of the Chinese new fighter is similar to the US fifth-generation fighter Lockheed Martin F-22 Raptor. However, the Chinese engine is less powerful.

Chengdu J-20 is equipped with Russian engines. However, China plans to replace them with engines manufactured in the country.

Many technical details of the new fighter are kept in secret. Probably, they will be revealed when the aircraft will be operated.

It is known that Chengdu J-20 will not be the only Chinese fifth-generation fighter. At the moment, the country is developing the J-31 fighter with the similar engine.
