In South Korea tens of thousands of people staged a rally for the president's resignation
In South Korea, the political scandal rages. President Park Geun-hye, the daughter of former President Park Chung Hee, is accused of neglecting official duties. It is known that a politician had been telling about the affairs of the state to her close friend Choi Soon-sil, who was arrested on November 3 on suspicion of extortion of money from the well-known South Korean companies.

The South Korean agency "Yonhap" reported that last Saturday about 850 thousand people gathered at the Seoul's main square (where the protest was held).
In order to ensure law and order, 25,000 police officers were sent to the venue of the rally. The law enforcement authorities of South Korea expected about 170 thousand people to take part in the strike.
Saturday's rally was the second major strike in South Korea over the past 10 days. The protest, held in Seoul on November 12, has become one of the most mass in the country since 2000.
Because of the political scandal, the popularity of the South Korean president sharply reduced. Park Geun-hye was recognized as the most unpopular politician in the country's history.
It is known, that soon the daughter of the former South Korea's president will be interrogated by the local procurator's office. The expected date of the process' beginning is November 20 (that's when the investigation against Park Geun-hye's friend Choi Soon-sil will be complete). The case of the president's interrogation will become the first in the history of South Korea.
- Park Geun-hye already apologized to the South Korea's people. The president of the country made amends for "trusting the sincerity of the private relations too much" to compatriots. According to the woman, she didn't realize she shared out state secrets to her friend.
