Statue of Unity
This monument, inaugurated in 2018 in the Indian state of Gujarat, is the tallest in the world, standing an impressive 182 meters tall. The statue depicts a key figure in Indian politics, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, and symbolizes the unity of the country. Made of steel, concrete, and bronze, it is situated on the banks of the Narmada River, near the city of Vadodara, on the island Sadhu Bet created for this purpose. A viewing platform located at the statue's chest level allows tourists to enjoy breathtaking views of the surrounding landscapes.
Spring Temple Buddha
Opened in 2008 in eastern China’s Henan Province, this monument reaches a height of 128 meters. The bronze statue depicts Vairocana Buddha, a central personality in Buddhism representing enlightenment and infinite wisdom. Vairocana stands on a 20-meter throne made of lotuses, which, in turn, is located on a massive pedestal resembling a stupa. A large picturesque park surrounds the monument and attracts thousands of pilgrims and tourists each year.
Laykyun Sekkya
Laykyun Sekkya is a majestic statue located in Myanmar, near the city of Moniwa. It depicts a standing Buddha figure approximately 116 meters tall. This reinforced concrete structure, covered in gold leaf, was built on a hillside, adding to its splendor and making it visible from afar. The design and construction of this colossal statue began in 1996 and took more than ten years, concluding in 2008. There is a museum inside the statue that tells the story of Buddha’s life and the history of Buddhism in Myanmar.
Statue of Faith
Located in the Indian state of Rajasthan, this statue stands 106 meters tall. It portrays Lord Krishna, one of the most revered deities in Hinduism, in his classic pose playing the flute. The construction of the Statue of Faith began in 2013 and was completed only in 2022. This monumental project was realized with the support of numerous patrons and became a significant event for Hindus and anyone interested in Indian culture and history.
Ushiku Daibutsu
This bronze statue, unveiled in 1993 in the Japanese city of Ushiku, rises 100 meters above the ground. It depicts Amitabha Buddha, who represents infinite light and life in Buddhism. Inside the monument are several halls, including a museum dedicated to Buddhism and a meditation hall. Besides, visitors can climb to a viewing platform located 85 meters up, offering stunning views of the surrounding landscape.
