US stock market closed mixed, Dow Jones up 0.00%

At the close of the New York Stock Exchange, the Dow Jones was up 0.00%, the S&P 500 was down 0.74% and the NASDAQ Composite was down 2.04%.

The leading gainer among the components of the Dow Jones index today was American Express Company, which gained 4.89 points or 2.91% to close at 172.79. The Travelers Companies Inc rose 3.45 points or 1.99% to close at 177.18. Coca-Cola Co rose 1.06 points or 1.84% to close at 58.54.

The biggest losers were Nike Inc, which shed 5.06 points or 4.13% to end the session at 117.57. Intel Corporation was up 1.43 points (3.12%) to close at 44.40, while Apple Inc was down 4.11 points (2.66%) to close at 150.62. .

Leading gainers among the S&P 500 index components in today's trading were Nielsen Holdings PLC, which rose 30.50% to 22.85, Paramount Global Class B, which gained 10.47% to close at 35.77. as well as EPAM Systems Inc, which rose 9.92% to end the session at 220.00.

The biggest losers were Las Vegas Sands Corp, which shed 11.89% to close at 32.09. Shares of Devon Energy Corporation shed 10.15% to end the session at 52.69. Quotes of Coterra Energy Inc decreased in price by 9.75% to 23.13.

Leading gainers among the components of the NASDAQ Composite in today's trading were Incannex Healthcare Ltd ADR, which rose 61.72% to 22.90, Red Cat Holdings Inc, which gained 48.37% to close at 2.73 , as well as shares of Q And K International Group Ltd, which rose by 37.56%, ending the session at around 1.69.

The biggest loser was Nektar Therapeutics, which shed 60.87% to close at 4.16. Shares of Kingsoft Cloud Holdings Ltd lost 47.86% and ended the session at 2.56. Quotes Electric Last Mile Solutions Inc fell in price by 47.71% to 0.99.

On the New York Stock Exchange, the number of securities that fell in price (2391) exceeded the number of those that closed in positive territory (867), while quotes of 99 shares remained virtually unchanged. On the NASDAQ stock exchange, 2,820 stocks fell, 1,001 rose, and 198 remained at the previous close.

Shares of Las Vegas Sands Corp tumbled to their lowest point, falling 11.89% or 4.33 points to close at 32.09. Nike Inc shares fell to a 52-week low, falling 4.13% or 5.06 points to close at 117.57. Shares in The Travelers Companies Inc surged to an all-time high of 1.99% or 3.45 points to close at 177.18.

The CBOE Volatility Index, which is based on S&P 500 options trading, rose 3.32% to 31.77.

Gold futures for April delivery added 0.10%, or 1.95, to $1.00 a troy ounce. In other commodities, WTI April futures rose 0.47%, or 0.48, to $102.48 a barrel. Brent oil futures for May delivery fell 0.01%, or 0.01, to $105.96 a barrel.

Meanwhile, in the Forex market, the EUR/USD pair remained unchanged 0.06% to 1.09, while USD/JPY edged up 0.10% to hit 118.29.

Futures on the USD index fell 0.07% to 99.11.
