Tesla CEO Elon Musk recently took part in the X Takeover podcast hosted by Tesla Owners Silicon Valley. During the hour-long interview, the billionaire shared his views on Bitcoin and more. He warned crypto enthusiasts that projects bearing his visage could be scams. "I'm not going to be promoting crypto — at most, in a joking way. If you see me pumping crypto, it's not me," he said.
"I do think there's merit in Bitcoin and maybe some other cryptos," Musk noted, though he is not a vocal supporter of cryptocurrencies and is not eager to push for them. "I've sort of got a soft spot for Dogecoin, because I like dogs and memes," the entrepreneur added.
He also rebutted reports stating that he had discussed cryptocurrency with presidential candidate Donald Trump. "Pretty sure I’ve never discussed crypto with Trump," Musk clarified.
As one of the world’s wealthiest individuals, Musk has repeatedly fueled Dogecoin’s rally to historic highs with his enigmatic tweets. In December 2023, he surprised his followers by admitting that he does not "spend a lot of time thinking about cryptocurrency."
