Apple to build factory in US to produce AI servers

Apple is keeping its finger on the pulse of innovation! The company’s leadership is wide awake, and by 2026, it plans to launch an AI server manufacturing plant in Houston, Texas.

According to preliminary estimates, a facility creating 20,000 jobs in AI server production will be opened in the US next year. In addition, the company is set to invest in AI research and development.

Over the next four years, Apple plans to invest $500 billion in the United States. This amount includes all business initiatives in the country—from supplier purchases to producing TV shows for Apple TV+ and funding educational programs.

The factory announcement came after a meeting between Apple CEO Tim Cook and US President Donald Trump. The head of the state thanked Apple, noting that the company’s plans reflect faith in his actions.

“We are bullish on the future of American innovation, and we're proud to build on our longstanding US investments,” Tim Cook stated.

Currently, the vast majority of Apple’s products are assembled overseas. However, many components are manufactured in the US. Among the company’s local chip suppliers are Broadcom, Texas Instruments, Skyworks, and Qorvo. In January 2025, Apple began producing its own chip at a TSMC facility in Arizona.

The Texas plant will be built in collaboration with Foxconn. The servers assembled at the facility will be used in data centers supporting the Apple Intelligence AI platform. At present, this equipment is manufactured outside the United States, but that may soon change.
