The users of Twitter living in France have now an option to transfer money to their followers using tweets, The Financial Times reported.
According to the newspaper, the person-to-person money transfers have become available thanks to an agreement with French banking group Groupe BPCE and its division S-money. However, it is still unclear whether the transaction would be kept visible as on the PayPal-owned app Venmo.
Since the beginning of autumn, Twitter has started to test a “buy” button which allows people to purchase products or content directly from a tweet. After clicking the “buy” button, a user is directed to a page with a product’s details.
