Great Britain calls for the tough sanctions against Russia, in spite of the Minsk agreements, ceasefire, and troops withdrawal. The Prime Minister of the United Kingdom David Cameron does not consider the achieved peace agreements to be convincing. According to David Cameron, the president of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko is very grateful to the UK for its leadership. Cameron also said that it was necessary to maintain pressure on Russia having expelled it from the G8 for a start. During the press briefing the Prime Minister noted that Great Britain would support all initiatives concerning further sanctions. The restrictions will come in force if separatists violate the Minsk agreements. In response to Russia’s expulsion from the G8 Foreign Minister of Russia Sergei Lavrov said that the country was not thrown out of the G8 as it is an organization which brings together the heads of leading countries to discuss important issues. Despite the armed conflict mutual economic sanctions remain to be the main problem. Reacting to the earlier sanctions the Russian government prohibited imports from the USA, EU, Canada, Australia, and Norway. Since March 2014, the West has repeatedly imposed tougher sanctions against Russia, extending the list of politicians, businessmen and companies involved in Ukrainian conflict.
