The Federal Reserve reported that the US net worth reached a record high of $82.91 trillion in the fourth quarter of 2014. During this period, household wealth rose by 1.9% that is $1.52 trillion comparing to the third quarter of the same year. This increase is considered to be the highest since the fourth quarter of 2013.
Growing US house prices and stock market contributed to the indicator’s consolidation during the October-December period. In particular, the Standard &Poor’s 500 index expanded by 4.4% during the last three months of 2014.
The pre-crisis high of $68.8 trillion of the US household wealth was logged in the second quarter of 2007.
