The EU blocked Hungary’s nuclear deal with Russia, reported international business newspaper citing its well-informed sources. The two countries agreed to build two nuclear reactors in the town of Paks. This nuclear deal costs €12 billion.
However, Hungarian Secretary of State Zoltan Kovacs said that the information was not true.
Euratom refused to approve Hungarty’s plan to import nuclear fuel exclusively from Russia. Hungary tried to appeal against Euratom but the EC did not support it.
The decision was released after the meeting of 28 EU commissioners in Brussels was finished.
