Agreement on Iran's nuclear program reached

A stage of negotiations on nuclear program between Iran and representatives of six world powers has successfully completed. Negotiators noted that enough progress have been made in solving a wide range of important issues. The U.S. Department of Energy Secretary Ernest Moniz deems the agreement acceptable. The parties are full of vim and vigour to bring the talks to a prosperous result and are ready to start working on the final part of the agreement. It is noted that the final version of a comprehensive agreement on Iran's nuclear program will extend for at least ten years. The document, which regulates the development of Iran's nuclear program, has surprised many people especially given the fact that there are solid grounds not to trust Teheran. Lifting of sanctions against Iran would be very bad news for the Russian economy but since last year geopolitics has become more important for the Kremlin than economic interests. Due to hard-working negotiations behind closed doors Iranian diplomats and their colleagues from six world powers prepared Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action. This document brought hope that the final agreement would be completed in summer. The main task for the US was to stretch a "breakthrough period", the time during which Iran could make a nuclear weapon, to at least one year. The measures taken have to make the process of production and storage of highly enriched uranium in Iran more complicated. Moreover, a very strict regime of regular international inspections will be also introduced. Previously imposed sanctions will gradually weaken but only by reference to the obligations assumed by the east country. Military departments of the US, Israel and Arab countries do not share the general optimism on this issue. Probably, this is why the Obama’s administration does not exclude a military solution of Iran’s problem in case of negotiations failure.
