British Prime Minister David Cameron announced that the referendum on Kingdom’s member-ship in the European Union will be held on June 23, 2016. Cabinet ministers took the decision following a special meeting.
The Cabinet of the United Kingdom consists of the Parliament members selected by the Prime Minister, and they make key decisions in the country. David Cameron says that Cabinet ministers are in favor of Britain remaining in the European Union on new terms.
Early February, Brussels drew up EU reform proposals which were approved by all parties on February 19. The City of London will remain in control of the currency and will become author-ized to adjust migrant policies.
In May 2015, David Cameron promised to conduct the referendum on the UK’s membership in the European Union by the end of 2017. The Prime Minister himself campaigns for the United Kingdom to stay in the European Union but only if it undergoes some major reforms.
