The chairman of Samsung Electronics, Lee Kun-hee won the case against his relatives, Agence France-Presse reported. The plaintiffs claimed ownership of $1 billion worth of assets included in the Samsung Electronics Corporation. Lawsuits were filed by his older brother Lee Maeng-hee and his older sister Lee Sook-hee. The head of Samsung was sued by his nephew Lee Jae-chan too.
The family members of the president of Samsung filed several lawsuits against him on March 29, 2012.
According to the plaintiffs, following the death of Lee Byung-chull , their father and the founder of Samsung Group, Lee Kun-hee secretly inherited shares of Samsung Electronics and Samsung Life Insurance worth $4 billion without telling other siblings who were also entitled to some of the assets. However, Samsung press office repeatedly stated that the question of the inheritance division was settled.
Samsung Group was founded by Lee Byung-chull in 1938. After his death in 1987, his children inherited the corporation and his third son Lee Kun-hee headed the company’s management board. Today Samsung Electronics is the main asset of the corporation, the world's leading manufacturer of electronics, computers and appliances.
