Falklanders remain loyal to Great Britain

During the referendum held on March 10-11 on the Falklands (Malvinas), 98.8% of islanders spoke in favour of staying under the British rule. 92% of 1,672 Falklanders took part in the voting. There were just three ballots with votes against the Falkland Islands remaining an overseas territory of the United Kingdom.
Argentina's President Cristina Kirchner called this week's referendum a “parody” saying its results had been predetermined. She insists the Falklands issue is to be settled by the United Nations. The thing is that the Falklanders are mainly represented by the offspring of the invaders, not indigenous people.
Argentina has been arguing against the British rule over the archipelago since the late 17th century, when it was discovered. In 1982, the conflict between the two countries ignited the sanguinary war, which came out to be victorious for Great Britain.
