The highest-paid US CEO made $263,000 a day in 2012

According to The New York Times, citing an analysis by Equilar, the highest-paid CEO, Lawrence J. Ellison of Oracle, perennially ranks among the US best-paid executives in 2012. The year earlier he was ranked 26. His revenue totaled $96.2 million, or about $263,000 a day. In comparison to the year 2011, the head of Oracle’s gain was 24% higher, despite the company’s revenue decreased by 22% in 2012.
The most notable decliner in 2012 was the highest-paid CEO in 2011: Tim Cook, the CEO of Apple, was awarded $379.9 million in 2011 – almost all of it in stock – but in 2012, he was paid just $4.2 million in cash, too low to make this year’s list at all.
The second-highest paid chief executive on the list, Richard M. Bracken of the hospital chain HCA, earned $38.6 million.
Robert A. Iger, president and CEO of The Walt Disney Company, with $37.1 million is now ranked third.
The 100 highest-paid CEO’s among American companies with revenue of more than $5 billion are in the Equilar’s list.
