The bid for lunch with Warren Buffett was sold for $1,000,100 on eBay. The auction, which finished on June 7, raised money for charity.
Annually, billionaire investor puts the bit for lunch with him up for an auction. A bargain price compared to last year dropped considerable – in 2012, the private audience with Buffett drew bids of $3.45 billion which was last year's record.
Raised money transferred to the Glide Foundation, a charity organization, which helps the poor and homeless in San Francisco. According to the terms of the auction, New York's Smith & Wollensky steakhouse hosts the meal with Buffett and the winner may invite up to seven guests. The only topic of conversation Buffett rejects to discuss during a charity lunch is the advice on investment.
Warren Buffett is famous as the founder of Berkshire Hathaway holding company. Lately, billionaire investor has participated in charity projects and donated considerable sums to charity. In 2010, the world's largest contribution made by Buffett went to Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
