US President Joseph Biden strives to protect the interests of his country and is ready to do anything to reduce the cost of oil products. His recent tour to the Middle East proves that. The American leader came to Saudi Arabia to persuade the kingdom’s officials to increase oil production in order to deal with the shortage in the world market. At the meeting, the United States and Saudi Arabia addressed the global crude supply issue. Later, the US president said he now expects Saudis to take “further steps” to increase the supply of oil in the “coming weeks” following a meeting. “I'm doing all I can to increase the supply,” he told reporters. “The Saudis share that urgency, and based on our discussions today I expect we'll see further steps in the coming weeks.” The trip was Biden's first visit to the Middle East as president. Earlier, he had already visited Israel. In an article for The Washington Times, columnist Ben Wolfgang suggested that Biden's arrival in Saudi Arabia to sign an agreement to boost the oil supply could turn out badly for Russia.
