Apple’s Vision Pro mixed reality sets will be sold in the United States on an appointment-only basis.
The product will be available as early as 2024. Buyers must schedule an appointment to purchase the Vision Pro in Apple stores. Meanwhile, the seller will ensure that the Vision Pro fits the wearer.
Apple already worked similarly when it was selling its Apple Watch in 2015.
The tech giant cares about its customers and their comfort. For instance, Apple will outfit the device with lens inserts for people with poor eyesight on prescription.
At some stores in the United States, Apple will design special sections with seats where customers will be able to try on the headset and the tools needed for sizing the device. The company is also working on an iPhone application that scans the person’s head and figures out its size. All these functions will be available at Apple stores and online.
The launch of the Apple Vision Pro will be the most challenging for the tech behemoth as it will require the firm to create a complex supply chain, train sales assistants, and redesign stores.
The device will cost as much as $3,500 in the United States.
The product will not be available in other countries until late 2024. Apple will first bring the Vision Pro to the United Kingdom and Canada, with countries in Asia and Europe to follow afterward.
