Solid Russian businessmen have begun to withdraw their assets from investment companies in London, The Daily Telegraph reports, citing an official representative of the British Prime Minister. According to the source, capital is flowing away because of the threat of economic sanctions against a number of Russian individuals and companies which the West believes are involved in "undermining the sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of Ukraine." Answering the question whether Russian oligarchs derive their capital from London now, the spokesman said: "The measures that were taken against individuals and companies linked with some movement of funds in Europe, including here in London. This is definitely the case”. Other foreign ministries of the European Union have already decided to tighten sanctions against Russia in connection with the situation in Ukraine. Thus, Europe is planning to restrict access of Russian companies to its financial markets and high technologies, as well as to ban weapon shipments to Russia. Media agencies reported on Thursday that the list of targeted sanctions against individuals and companies from Russia could be expanded.
