On Monday, the Turkish Statistical Institute announced that there was a slight reduction in Turkey's unemployment rate in December. The transition was a minimal drop from an adjusted 8.9 percent in November to 8.8 percent in December.
In terms of figures, the count of job-seeking individuals decreased by 12,000 to total 3.1 million in December. Conversely, the employment rate observed a rise with an additional 399,000 people employed, marking a total of 32.06 million employed individuals in the same month. The employment percentage stood at 48.8 in December, showcasing a progress from 48.2 percent in the month prior.
Lastly, the demographic group of young people, aged between 15 and 24, witnessed a drop in unemployment rates from 16.3 percent to 15.5 percent in December.
