In December, Finland experienced a deficit in its current account following a surplus in November, according to data from Statistics Finland, published on Monday. The account balance in December reported a deficit of 38 million euros, a significant decrease from the November surplus of 1.67 billion euros.
Comparatively, the current account balance for the same period in the previous year recorded a surplus of 338 million euros. The balance of payment terms for goods account showed a modestly profitable surplus of 0.2 billion euros. However, the service account balance reported a deficit of 0.7 billion euros.
The primary income account revealed a robust surplus of 0.7 billion euros, while a minor deficit of 0.2 billion euros was identified in the secondary income account. As per the available data, the summed total of the current account over the previous 12-month period represented a deficit of 2.8 billion euros.
