Pratt & Whitney, an aerospace manufacturer and subsidiary of RTX, has been granted an F100 engine performance-based logistics (PBL) sustainment contract by the Defense Acquisition Program Administration (DAPA) of South Korea.
This contract, having an initial value of $355 million, marks the third consecutive PBL contract signed between Pratt & Whitney and DAPA since 2012. This agreement will continue to provide maintenance support for the F-15 Eagles and F-16 Fighting Falcons of the Republic of Korea Air Force (ROKAF).
Chris Johnson, the Vice President of Fighter and Mobility Programs at Pratt & Whitney, stated that the company has been collaboratively working with DAPA on these performance-based logistics contracts for just over a decade in order to implement a more strategic sustainment solution for the ROKAF fighter fleet. According to Johnson, such contracts benefit both the customers and the industry as they enhance efficiency, affordability, and availability.
The sustainment work began in December 2023 and is projected to continue through the latter half of 2027.
