Grupo Televisa, S.A.B., a telecommunications company based in Mexico, has announced that it has sealed an agreement with the American telecommunications holding company, AT&T Inc. The deal allows Grupo Televisa to gain full ownership of Sky Mexico by acquiring AT&T’s interest in it.
While the financial terms of the transaction remain undisclosed, it has been stipulated that the payment for this acquisition will be made by Grupo Televisa in the years 2027 and 2028.
Furthermore, Luis Malvido, who currently holds the position of Chief Executive Officer at Sky, will be stepping down from his role on April 15, 2024. Following his departure, the reins will be handed over to Francisco Valim. Besides his new responsibility as the CEO of Sky, Valim will continue to serve as the CEO of Grupo Televisa's Cable segment.
