Kingfisher plc (KGF.L), a leading home improvement retailer, announced on Monday the appointment of Bhavesh Mistry as its new Chief Financial Officer. Mistry is currently serving as the CFO of British Land Company Plc (BLND.L), a prominent real estate investment trust. Kingfisher will disclose Mistry's exact start date in due course.
Mistry will take over from Bernard Bot, the current CFO of Kingfisher, who plans to retire to focus on his non-executive career. Bot’s departure will not occur before January 2025, but the specific date is yet to be confirmed.
British Land stated that Mistry will remain in his current role until they find a suitable replacement. He is obligated to a 12-month notice period, and the exact date of his departure will be determined accordingly. British Land has already commenced its search for a new CFO and will announce further details in the future.
Mistry has held the position of British Land CFO since 2021, following his tenure as Deputy CFO at Tesco from 2018 to 2021. His extensive career spanning over two decades includes significant finance roles at major companies, such as Whitbread, Virgin Media, and Anheuser-Busch InBev.
