Alimentation Couche-Tard Inc. (ANCUF.PK, ATD_B.TO, ATD_A.TO), the distinguished Canadian convenience store operator, announced on Monday its agreement to acquire GetGo Cafe + Market from supermarket chain Giant Eagle, Inc.
The financial specifics of the deal have not been revealed.
The transaction, anticipated to be finalized within the 2025 calendar year, will be financed using the company's available cash reserves or pre-existing credit facilities.
GetGo, renowned for its food-centric convenience store model, employs approximately 3,500 staff members and oversees around 270 convenience retail and fueling locations across the United States.
In a separate announcement, Alimentation Couche-Tard disclosed that it recently submitted a friendly, non-binding proposal to Seven & i Holdings Co., Ltd. (SVNDY), a leading retailer based in Japan.
The company emphasized that there is no guarantee at this juncture that any agreement or transaction will materialize.
