Akzo Nobel N.V. (AKZOY), a Dutch manufacturer specializing in paints and performance coatings, announced on Tuesday its intention to reduce its global workforce by approximately 2,000 positions. This move is part of a broader strategy to cut costs and improve operational efficiency.
The initiative aims to simplify business operations, speed up decision-making processes, and streamline the company's management structure. These structural changes are expected to be completed by the end of 2025.
Greg Poux-Guillaume, CEO of AkzoNobel, stated, "Over the last three quarters, we have demonstrated our ability to grow. We aim to accelerate profitable growth by optimizing our functional organization to become more agile in volatile markets and offset headwinds such as rising labor costs."
