In October, Japan experienced a 0.2 percent increase in producer prices compared to the previous month, according to the Bank of Japan's report on Wednesday. This rise surpassed the anticipated stagnancy in prices and followed an upward revision in September's figures, which initially reported no change, rising to 0.3 percent. Annually, producer prices increased by 3.4 percent, outpacing the projected 2.9 percent and improving from September's revised figure of 3.1 percent, which was previously pegged at 2.9 percent. The bank also noted that export prices remained unchanged on a monthly basis but saw a 0.6 percent rise year-over-year. Meanwhile, import prices decreased by 0.2 percent compared to the prior month and dropped by 2.1 percent from the same period last year.
