In February 2025, Norway's manufacturing output experienced a 1.4% month-over-month increase, marking a recovery from January's revised 1.6% decline. Noteworthy rebounds were observed in sectors such as furniture and manufacturing not elsewhere classified, which rose by 4.6% after a 5.8% fall in January. The refined petroleum, chemicals, and pharmaceuticals industries also improved, growing by 3.9% from a 1% decrease in the previous month. Similarly, the printing and production sector saw a 3.9% rise following a 1% decline. The decline in the paper and paper products sector lessened to 3.7% from January's 6.5% decrease. Conversely, there was a downturn in textiles, wearing apparel, and leather, which dropped by 2.2% after a 0.8% gain. The food, beverage, and tobacco sector also fell slightly by 0.5%, in contrast to a 0.9% increase previously. Furthermore, a slowdown was noted in transport equipment production, which grew by 0.7%, down from 3% growth in January. Year-on-year, manufacturing output surged by 6.1% in February, representing the most robust growth recorded in seven months, following a revised 2.9% increase in the prior period.
