Tourist arrivals in Bulgaria experienced a year-on-year increase of 1.5%, reaching 767.7 thousand in March 2025. This growth follows a 3.1% rise observed in the preceding month. Holiday and recreation travel saw a 4.5% uptick, and visits for other purposes grew by 1.1%. However, professional purpose visits decreased by 4.7%. Regionally, the European Union was responsible for 54.1% of all visits to Bulgaria, with Romania contributing 37.3% and Greece 31.1% of these figures. Additionally, 38.9% of arrivals originated from other parts of Europe, led predominantly by Turkey, which accounted for 57.7%.
