In March 2025, Slovenia experienced a slight decline in retail sales, which decreased by 0.3% compared to the same month in the previous year. This marks a shift from February's upwardly revised growth of 4.6%. Specifically, sales in the food, beverages, and tobacco sectors fell by 1.3%, a downturn from February's 1.5% increase. Meanwhile, growth in the non-food sector slowed to 0.3% from 2.1%. However, sales of automotive fuel in specialized stores remained stable, recovering from a 0.7% decline in the prior month. From a monthly perspective, after adjusting for seasonal factors, retail activity contracted by 2% in March, following a revised 1.1% increase in February.
