Chile's industrial production experienced a significant year-on-year increase of 4.5% in March 2025, recovering from a 3.6% contraction observed in the previous month. This turnaround was largely fueled by a robust resurgence in the mining sector, which expanded by 5.4% following a 6.6% decline. A key contributor to this growth was the impressive 9.1% rise in copper production, bouncing back from a 5.4% decrease. Additionally, manufacturing demonstrated healthy progress with a 5.4% increase, compared to the prior month's 1.3% fall. Furthermore, the downturn in utilities production lessened, showing a smaller decline of 0.5% compared to the previous 3.2%. When adjusted for seasonality on a monthly basis, overall industrial output advanced by 1.3%, improving from the 0.6% decrease recorded in February.
