In April 2025, Portugal's annual inflation rate increased to 2.1%, a slight rise from March's seven-month low of 1.9%, as indicated by a preliminary estimate. The uptick in inflation was seen across most sectors of the Portuguese consumer basket, with unprocessed food prices jumping to 3.27% from 2.77% in March, and other non-housing items rising to 1.95% compared to the previous 1.69%. Despite these increases, energy costs saw a minor decline of 0.1%, which counterbalanced the similar rise observed in March. On a monthly basis, consumer prices climbed by 1.3%.
