In March 2025, Italy's unemployment rate saw a slight increase, reaching 6%, up from a nearly 18-year low of 5.9% recorded in February, aligning with market predictions. The number of unemployed individuals increased by 32,000 from the previous month, totaling 1.555 million, while the number of employed individuals experienced a decline of 16,000, bringing the total to 24.307 million. On the other hand, the labor force participation rate remained unchanged at 67.1%, marking its second-highest level since records began in 2004. Notably, the youth unemployment rate for those aged 15 to 24 saw a rise to 19%, compared to the record low of 17.3% in February.
