Turkey's trade deficit grew to USD 12.04 billion in April 2025, compared to USD 9.9 billion in the same month the previous year, according to preliminary data released by the Trade Ministry. Exports experienced an 8.5% rise from the previous year, reaching USD 20.92 billion, despite the announcement of tariffs by the US. Meanwhile, imports surged by 12.9% to USD 32.96 billion. Over the first four months of the year, Turkey's trade deficit totaled USD 34.53 billion, with exports rising by 3.9% and imports increasing by 6.7%.
