In March 2025, Austria's industrial production experienced a year-on-year increase of 1.4%, building upon a revised 0.6% gain in February. This marks the third consecutive month of industrial expansion. Notably, the production of intermediate goods saw a rise, increasing by 1.8%, up from 1.4% in February. In contrast, there was a deceleration in the production of consumer non-durables and energy, with output slipping to 10.6% from 12.1%, and to 0.6% from 1.2%, respectively. Additionally, the production of consumer durables and capital goods continued their decline, with consumer durables falling sharply by 20.9% compared to a previous 16.2% decrease, and capital goods decreasing by 4.6%, slightly worsening from a 4.4% drop. On a monthly basis, after seasonal adjustments, industrial output rose by 0.9% in March 2025, recovering from a revised 1.7% decline in the prior month.
