In March 2025, the Czech Republic experienced a 3.4% year-on-year increase in retail sales, aligning with market expectations and up from a recently revised 3.2% growth in February. This represents the highest growth rate observed since December 2024, largely fueled by increased sales of automotive fuel (10% compared to 7.3% in February) and non-food items (5.1% compared to 3.2%). Conversely, the trade segment for food, beverages, and tobacco saw a decline of 0.6%, down from a previous increase of 1.8%. On a month-on-month basis, after seasonal adjustments, retail activity increased by 0.6% in March, building on a revised gain of 0.2% in the previous month.
