In April 2025, Namibia experienced a reduction in its annual inflation rate, which eased to 3.6%, down from the six-month high of 4.2% recorded in March. Most notably, price increases moderated in key sectors such as food and non-alcoholic beverages, which saw a decrease to 5.6% from 6.2% in March. Similarly, the inflation rate for alcoholic beverages and tobacco decreased from 5.5% to 4.9%, and prices in the hotels, cafes, and restaurants sector eased to 6.3% from 6.8%. In addition, there were declines in the transportation (-0.3% compared to 2.6% in March) and communications sectors (-0.7% compared to -0.1%). Monthly consumer prices increased by 0.2% in April, a slowdown from the 0.5% rise observed in the previous month.
