Retail sales in Denmark experienced a 4.9% year-on-year increase in April 2025, building upon a revised rise of 1.7% in March. This marks the second consecutive month of growth in the retail sector, with a significant rebound evident in food and grocery sales, which surged by 4.6%, a stark contrast to the 3.6% decline observed in March. Conversely, the growth rate tempered for clothing, with sales rising by 0.2% compared to a 3.2% increase previously, and for other consumer goods, which saw a gain of 5.7% versus 6.1% in the prior month. Additionally, on a seasonally adjusted month-to-month basis, retail activity rose by 0.4% in April, recovering from the previous month's 0.1% decline.
