Retail sales in Sweden experienced a notable increase of 5.3% in April 2025 compared to the same month the previous year. This represents an acceleration from the revised growth rate of 3.2% observed in March. It is the most significant gain recorded since November 2021. The increase was largely propelled by a surge in durable goods sales, which climbed by 8.5% from 6% in March, alongside a rise in sales of consumables, up to 1.9% from 0.5%. On a month-to-month comparison, retail sales saw a growth of 0.9% in April, building on the upwardly revised increase of 0.7% in March.
