In April 2025, Australia experienced a 3.1% increase in private house approvals compared to the previous month, reaching a seven-month peak of 9,349 units. This upturn aligns with preliminary estimates and reverses a 1.9% decline observed in March. It also represents the most significant growth in private house permits since March 2024. The surge was primarily fueled by increased approvals in New South Wales and Queensland, both up by 7.3%, and Victoria, which saw a 0.9% rise. Conversely, approvals fell in South Australia by 1.2% and in Western Australia by 0.6%.
