Industrial production in Hungary experienced a 5% decline year-on-year in April 2025, according to preliminary estimates, following a stagnant performance in the previous month. A downturn was observed across most manufacturing subsectors, notably in the production of vehicles, electrical equipment, and food, beverages, and tobacco products. Conversely, there was an uptick in the manufacture of computers, electronics, and optical products. On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, industrial activity increased by 1.5% in April 2025, marking an improvement from the modest 0.1% rise in the prior period.
