In the first five months of 2025, Azerbaijan's economy experienced a 1.5% expansion compared to the same period the previous year. This marks an increase from the 0.9% growth seen from January to April, although it is a deceleration compared to the 4.2% growth during the same span last year. Growth in the non-oil and gas sector reached 3.9%, while the oil and gas sector saw a contraction of 3%. On the production front, significant contributions to GDP growth came from the industry sector, which accounted for 36.2%, followed by trade and vehicle repair at 9.9%, transportation and warehousing at 7%, and construction at 6.2%.
