In April 2025, Turkey experienced a notable increase in retail sales, climbing 11.5% compared to the same month in the previous year. This growth follows a revised 9.6% rise recorded in March. The surge was predominantly fueled by the robust performance in non-food product sales, which jumped by 14.6%, up from 11.5% in March. Within this category, there was a remarkable increase in the sales of computers, books, and telecommunications equipment, which soared by 39.0%, surpassing the previous month's 17.8% growth. Automotive fuel sales saw a slight uptick as well, recording a 4.5% rise compared to 4.2% in March. Additionally, sales of audio and video equipment, along with hardware, paints, and glass, bounced back with a 10.4% increase, after experiencing a 0.2% decline in March. On a monthly basis, and after adjusting for seasonal variations, retail sales rose by 2.8%, rebounding from a revised 1.5% decrease in the previous month.
