In May 2025, producer prices in the Czech Republic decreased by 0.8% compared to the same month the previous year. This decline was less pronounced than the 1.3% fall recorded in April, yet it surpassed the market's forecast of a 0.6% reduction. This represents the fourth consecutive month of deflation in producer prices, although at a reduced rate. The decrease moderated for the mining and quarrying sector, with prices contracting by 4.2% compared to a 4.5% drop in April. Manufacturing prices, however, remained unchanged compared to a 0.9% decrease in the prior month. Conversely, prices in the electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning sectors continued to fall, dropping by 3.5% as opposed to April's 2.9%. Prices for water supply, sewerage, waste management, and remediation services remained stable at 4.1%. On a month-to-month basis, producer prices fell by 0.6%, an improvement from the 0.8% decline observed in April.
