In May 2025, Poland experienced a year-on-year increase in industrial output, which rose by 3.9%, an improvement over the 1.2% growth observed in the previous month. However, this growth fell short of the anticipated 4.3% increase expected by market analysts. The manufacturing sector saw a significant rise, with output climbing to 4.1% from 1.7% in April. Additionally, there was growth in the sectors of water supply, sewerage, waste management, and remediation activities, reaching 4.0% compared to 1.0% the previous month. The electricity, gas, steam, and air-conditioning supply sector also showed recovery, with output increasing to 3.2% from a decline of 1.5% in the prior period. Conversely, the mining and quarrying sector continued to contract, albeit at a slower rate, with a decline of 2.0% compared to the previous month's 9.9% drop. On a monthly basis, industrial output decreased by 2.0%, which was a moderation from April's sharper decline of 3.5%.
