In the first quarter of 2025, Kosovo's economy experienced a year-on-year growth of 3.61 percent. This represents a slight decrease from the 4.08 percent growth recorded in the preceding quarter, marking the slowest economic expansion since the second quarter of 2023. The deceleration is primarily attributed to the negative impact of net external demand. During this period, imports surged by 14.36 percent compared to the previous year, significantly outpacing the 8.55 percent increase noted in the fourth quarter of 2024. Meanwhile, exports rose by 12.07 percent, a slight improvement from the 11.13 percent increase recorded in the prior quarter. On a more positive note, gross capital formation grew by 13.62 percent, and household consumption experienced a moderate increase of 4.27 percent.
