In May 2025, Slovenia witnessed a 3.5% increase in tourist arrivals compared to the same period last year, reaching a total of 617,444 visitors. This follows a substantial 22.5% rise noted in April. Foreign arrivals saw an identical 3.5% growth, totaling 1,439,583, while domestic tourist numbers matched this growth rate, reaching 565,500. A significant number of foreign tourists originated from Italy, showing an increase of 55.2%, Croatia with 33%, and the United States with 11%. In contrast, arrivals from Germany and Austria saw declines of 27.3% and 2.7%, respectively. Concurrently, overnight stays witnessed a 2.9% increase, totaling 1,435,422 nights, with urban municipalities leading at a 9.3% rise, followed by the capital at 5.7%, health resort communities at 3.2%, and coastal municipalities at 0.8%.
