Greece Credit Growth Slows in May

In May 2025, the overall credit extended to the Greek economy increased by 6.9% compared to the same month last year, marking a slight decline from the revised 7.2% growth observed in April. Credit extended to the general government saw a reduction, dropping to 0.2% from 1.3% in the previous month. On the other hand, credit to the private sector maintained strong growth, expanding by 11.3% compared to the 10.9% increase seen in February.
