In May 2025, Finland experienced a 5.8% year-on-year increase in industrial production, a moderation from the revised growth of 7.1% observed in April. The manufacturing sector saw a slower increase, recording a 5.3% rise compared to 8.9% the previous month. On the other hand, mining and quarrying production surged, increasing by 17.7%, up from 4.2%, and there was a significant recovery in the production of electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning supply, which grew by 8% from a previous drop of 5%. If we look at seasonally adjusted figures, industrial activity remained unchanged in May, following a newly adjusted 0.2% increase in April.
